Heather Halls was a remarkable woman that filled the Waterford community with love, kindness, and showed us all how to be good people. Heather started volunteering in the community when her children started preschool and even during her 10-year battle with cancer, Heather was an inspiration with her beautiful smile, never give up attitude, bravery and grace.

Heather was a true hero, involved in everything from being a reading mentor to serving on various boards and community groups. Heather was the Executive Director of the Waterford Coalition for Youth, a prevention coalition formed to reduce high-risk behaviors in the community's youth through education and awareness. The impact she made on the Waterford community and the lives of the people who lived and attended school here is immeasurable.

The WCC is honoring Heather the best way we can, by starting a scholarship program to help the youth of our community.

Not all Hero's wear capes...

Heather Halls is a Waterford legend and a true hero in every sense of the word.

Heather was an active volunteer in the schools since her children started preschool.  She volunteered in classrooms, served in elected positions on the PTA and PTSA, served on the Waterford Board of Education and was the Executive Director of the Waterford Coalition for Youth.  Heather served on School District bond commitees, was a reading mentor, was a member of the Waterford Breakfast Optimist Club, Rotarian and served as President of the Waterford Kettering Band Boosters for many years just to name a few of her community activities.

We lost Heather in 2022 to cancer and with her passing a Waterford treasure was lost.  Even through her courageous fight, Heather was the most optimistic and upbeat person you could ever meet.  #HEATHERSTRONG was born while she was fighting her battle with cancer, and strong she was.

To honor her service and dedication to the Waterford Community, the Waterford Community Coalition is hosting a memorial fundraiser.  Proceeds of this event will be used for a memorial bench and a scholarship fund for Waterford students.  Heather's love of the Waterford Community and our youth makes a scholarship the perfect gift to honor her and keep her legacy alive. Establishing this scholarship fund to support young individuals in their educational pursuits is our commitment at the WCC to preserving her legacy.

She will never be forgotten  #HEATHERSTRONG
